Buzznet: Movies That Are Considered to Be Almost Flawless

Almost flawless? That definitely doesn’t describe this article. “Movies That Are Considered Flawless.” By whom? The suggestion is that some kind of consensus has been achieved in selected the movies presented here. However, this article – while not credited to anyone – clearly is an individual fan’s personal favorites. That makes sense considering that Buzznet is a social media platform allowing members to share content. I have no problem with personal lists and consider it a low blow to tell someone his or her tastes are wrong. If it is a personal list, though, OWN IT.

As if to muster credibility, a handful of classics like Jaws, Vertigo, West Side Story, and 2001: A Space Odyssey are thrown in alongside a list of mostly 21st-century films that are far from universal classics. While putting together best-of lists is a very subjective thing, it is telling that this list offers titles like Silence and You Were Never Really Here which have appeared on exactly zero other lists compiled by Dave’s Movie Database.

Actually, this isn’t a list, but a hastily assembled and poorly edited article. How else do you explain Her and You Were Never Really Here each showing up TWICE? The article also presents 38 movies (why 38? I have no idea) in an unranked, nonchronological, seemingly random order.

Nonetheless, this “list” has been presented as a curiosity with the films listed in order of ranking by Dave’s Movie Database.

The Internet Movie Database includes ratings for movies. Their “Top Rated Movies” list shows which movies rate highest. A 2013 list ranks movies based on their metascores. A 2012 list, simply identified as being created by ChrisWalczyk55, was posted on the site which appears to be his own personal list, but includes 65 movies from the IMDB “Top Rated Movies” list. The three lists have been aggregated here to create one list. Here are the top 100 movies:
